Unpredictable and opportunity are the two words that best describes my personal COVID-19 experience.
2021 was an unpredictable year for tourism and for me personally. All what could go wrong, did go wrong.
At the start of the tour season, I was excited to get things started as a full-time tour company. Unfortunately, due to limited drivers and the COVID-19 mandates, it was difficult to reserve buses for our signature tours. Then, a week before executing our first school contract in August, I was unexpectedly hospitalized for a Paraoesophageal Hernia repair with Toupet Fundoplication......basically, my stomach was stuck in my chest. Consequently, I spent the remaining of 2021 recovering, regaining my strength, and reinventing Bea's Historical Community Tours. This sanctioned time of healing allowed me the opportunity to refocus my vision and purpose for myself and the company.
Now that government mandates have been lifted, we at Bea's Historical Community Tours look forward to seeing you again.
As the Founder and CEO, I continued to move forward with self-development and reconstruction of the business.
This past year has been a developing success!

The drive and perseverance was the foundation of the African Americans who paved the way even when resources were limited. Although there are too many to be named, the Pullman Porter is a great model of strength. For more on the Pullman Porters follow the link below:
The Great Migration was a movement from the south to the north. Over 6 million African Americans escaped segregation known as the "Jim Crow Laws". George Pullman was a manufacturer of the Pullman sleeping cars in which he founded a town on the South side of Chicago called The Pullman community. George Pullman hired African Americans, paying them wages on average of 6 cents per hour. The Porters worked in deplorable conditions. Because of their dreams for themselves, their family and their community, these men found a way to overcome barriers by becoming well known for their outstanding customer service.
Our organization Freedom Thirteen Inc. has partnered with Greencorps Terra Firma not- for - profit organization. We provide case management and consulting to assist with organization structure and trainees barriers.
