Freedom Thirteen is a one of a kind tour that will educate you on the strength, the dream, the destiny of African Americans as well as  the contributions made by those who came before.

The Strength!

The drive and perseverance was the foundation of the African Americans who paved the way even when resources were limited.  Although there are too many to be named, the Pullman Porter is a great model of strength.

The Dream!

The Great Migration was a movement from the south to the north. Over 6 million African Americans escaped segregation known as the "Jim Crow Laws".   George Pullman was a manufacturer of the Pullman sleeping cars in which he founded a town on the South side of Chicago called The Pullman community.  George Pullman hired African Americans, paying them wages on average of 6 cents per hour.  The Porters worked in deplorable conditions.  Because of their dreams for themselves, their family and their community, these men found a way to overcome barriers by becoming  well known for their outstanding customer service.

The Destiny!

Today our youth has lost hope, value, and the desire to dream.  This is where you come in. When you book a historical or leisure tour you will be giving back to the South-side community and it's businesses.  You will be helping  Ms. Bea to educate the community, expose South side businesses bringing hope and pride back to the South side of Chicago.
